I have three extra credit opportunities lined up for you this semester so far. To receive extra credit for these, you must attend the event shown and complete the extra credit response described on the assignment. You can complete the extra credit assignment up to three times during the semester.
- Learn how media messages can be used to educate the public about HIV at the International AIDS Conference 2012 Mini Hub, “Regenerating HIV Prevention and Education among Gay Men and MSM: Cultural Analysis and Intervention,” Thursday, Sept. 20, 6:30 pm, TJ Day 222
- First presidential debate screening, Pizza and Politics, Oct. 3 (exact time/place TBA, around 6 pm)
- Talk by Chris Ballard, Sports Illustrated writer, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 6-7:30, Nicholson Library, Austin Reading Room
One more, added Sept. 9: Nov. 8, 7:30 p.m., Austin Reading Room, Nicholson Library: Chris Anderson and Stephanie Lennox will introduce Oregon’s only co-operative literary publisher, Airlie Press as well as their latest work. As a co-operative press, Airlie’s authors form an editorial board. They work on each other’s books and determine new authors and titles as an editorial board.
If you hear of other events on campus that are relevant to our class, let me know in advance, and I’ll consider offering extra credit for them too!
